CONSULTATION ON LIVERPOOL CITY COUNCIL CRU FUNDING FRAMEWORK
Liverpool City Council's Community Resources Unit currently provides nearly £4 million a year to voluntary and community sector organisations to deliver local projects for the benefit of local residents. Organisations receive three-year grants to deliver these projects. These are invested through a Funding Framework. This guides how the money is invested to meet local needs across five themes: Community Legal Advice, Domestic Violence, Homelessness, Stronger Communities, Strengthening Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations. The Funding Framework is currently being updated for 2011-2014. This includes a number of changes to guide how funds will be invested in the future. The Community Resources Unit would like to consult with anyone who wants to have their say on these proposals. This includes local residents, voluntary and community sector representatives, councillors, council officers and anyone else with an interest in the future of the programme. GVA Grimley is managing the consultation process on behalf of the City Council. To obtain views from as many people as possible who may be affected by the proposed changes, an online survey has been set up which can be completed by clicking on the following link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/crufundingframework . The survey takes no longer than 30 minutes to complete and will be open until 18 March 2010. If you would like to request the survey in an alternative format please send an email with your name and contact details to:
consultation@gvagrimley.co.uk or Contact the Community Resources Unit on 0151 233 4436 When the survey is closed, the results will be presented in a short report to inform the development of the draft Funding Framework. There will then be a second phase of consultation on this document between April and July. We look forward to hearing your views so please complete the survey and have your say. Closing date for completed surveys is 18 March.

Since its construction it has been customised by the Photographer Nick Knight, Turner prize winner Mark Titchner, the Ghanaian sculptor El Anatsui, and most recently by Stephanie Imbeau, an Art Graduate, whose Shelter design constructed with used umbrellas was the winner of a competition run last year for Art Students and recent Graduates. The panel of judges will initially decide on three finalists whose designs will then be put through a feasibility study, before the final winner is chosen. In addition to creative representatives from Channel 4, the judges will include Alex Proud: Founder of the Proud Galleries, Maurice Blik: Sculpter and Fellow of the RSA and Ruth Mackenzie OBE: Cultural Olympiad Director. Poet in Residence, The Wordsworth Trust
The Wordsworth Trust is seeking a new Poet in Residence, to run for 9 months from July 2010 to end March 2011. (The residency may be extended to a year pending confirmation of further funding from Arts Council England.) The Wordsworth Trust was founded in 1891 to maintain Dove Cottage, in Grasmere, Cumbria, home of William Wordsworth when he wrote much of his greatest poetry. Dove Cottage is now an internationally famous visitor attraction, and the Trust's collection is now home to 90% of Wordsworth's known manuscripts, one of the largest archive collections of a writer in the world. The Trust is keen to maintain the tradition of creativity associated with Dove Cottage, and is striving to be the centre of poetry activity in North West England. In support of this aim it runs a growing contemporary literature programme, which includes a season of poetry readings, renowned as one of the best in the country, and a range of workshops and other events, often presented in partnership with national organisations such as The Poetry School and the Poetry Translation Centre. The programme is funded by Arts Council England. This Residency offers an invaluable opportunity for a published poet, from any cultural background and writing within any literary tradition, to spend time in Grasmere, Cumbria, in the heart of the Lake District, an area of outstanding natural beauty that so much inspired William Wordsworth. The poet will be given space to develop their own work and will also take part in the Wordsworth Trust Literature Programme and the wider cultural life of Cumbria. The Poet in Residence will be paid a monthly stipend of £1000.00 and provided with a cottage for which they will be charged a subsidised rent. For full details, and application procedure contact Andrew Forster on A.Forster@wordsworth.org.uk or 015394 35544 Closing date for applications 5.00pm Friday 5th March 2010.
