Welcome! As mentioned in the last newsletter, I have been at the Deaf Arts Festival Clin D'Oleil (which means ‘Wink') in Reims, France. I mixed with 1,400 Deaf people from around the globe - they brought the city alive as this year they animated the streets.
I attended my first outdoor deaf party and I just loved feeling the bass sound waves hit me - even from a quarter of a mile away! I saw some wonderful performances, especially Beethoven's Nightmare. The highest point had to be when UK film-makers won 6 out of the 8 film awards - with one of the winners a previous DaDaAwards recipient from 2007 and another being shortlisted last year. I am still taking it all in and will no doubt be chasing up a lot of the artists in the coming few months.
